Indo Live summer 2013
This is a small clip from my Indo Live performance showcasing my musical talents as a performer, a producer and an interactive visual artist. This piece was the final performance of my final major project during my Masters degree that I graduated from in the summer of 2013.
The video highlights the most interesting parts of the performance and shows the interaction between performance, visuals and sounds, which is completely integrated with each other.
The link between these elements is to create a more interesting performance, so whether you're into music in a technical sense or someone that just enjoys music, you can understand what is happening throughout the performance as apposed to the laptop performer, who often makes it unclear to the audience, what the performer is actually doing.
Bjorn Alphas performs his latest three track EP "From South To North".
Indo Visuals had the pleasure of working with Bjorn Alpha on this project and studied and discussed how he performs each of his tracks live. He was able to created a standalone application that runs in the background of his laptop allowing the visuals to be controlled seamlessly by his actions within his performance.
The application manipulates and controls video via the Midi controllers used in his performance and at various points, also takes direct sound input from the traditional Cretan instrument the ‘Lyre’ to control sound reactive visuals.

Artist Application is a specialist services in which Indo Visuals designs and creates a stand-alone application to run customised visuals for artists and musicians as they perform live….. so they are in control. Content, effects and the 3D Mapping environment all react directly with the sounds they make and their actions.
Indo Visuals works closely with the artist/performer and studies the behaviour and protocols to understand how their live set/performance is controlled. This then sets the groundwork for the standalone application, which will run seamlessly in the background as the artist performs.
As well as the application, stage design and fabrication is also implemented into the package with templates for mapping to the 3D surfaces.
Main application is mad with Max/Msp/Jitter 7 and the other tools used for this are Ableton Live and Mad Mapper. The programs all communicate with one another using triggers, cue points, midi data, OSC data and via the artists/musicians controllers.
This service includes:
A stand alone application to control your own visuals as you perform live
Stage design & Fabrication
3D Mapping templates
